How to care for laser-cut steel wall art

The plate is mild steel with a powder coat. It is not stainless, and it is not a cast iron pan. Indoors, the coating is what you are looking after. Dust it. A dry microfibre cloth is enough most weeks. If a kitchen or a puja room leaves a film, use a barely damp cloth and dry it. Do not soak the plate, and do not run it under a tap.
Skip abrasive powder, scrub pads and the acid cleaners sold for bathrooms. They will dull the coat long before they hurt the steel. Champagne gold and brushed steel show fingerprints more than matte black. That is the finish, not a defect. Wipe them the same way.
Humidity in Mumbai and along the coast is the reason we say indoor, or a covered balcony at most. A plate in direct rain will eventually find a cut edge. If you hang one near a window that leaks in the monsoon, move it for those weeks.
The standoffs can loosen. Tighten them by hand once a year. If a hole in the wall gives up, that is the plug, not the art. The template in the box is worth keeping until you are sure the plate is where you want it.
